You should check your Residential Tenancy Agreement for any of the landlord’s preferred tradespeople, below is a list of our office-approved trades that can assist you in an emergency.
The following are examples of an emergency repair:
• a burst water service or a serious water service leak
• a blocked or broken toilet
• a serious roof leak
• a gas leak
• an electrical fault
• flooding or serious flood damage
• serious storm or fire damage
• a failure or breakdown of the gas, electricity or water supply to the property
• a failure or breakdown of the hot water service
• a failure or breakdown of the stove or oven
• a fault or damage rendering the property unsafe or insecure
• Faulty smoke alarm
Where a tradesperson attends and determines that the fault is not an emergency, or has been caused by the tenant, the cost may be passed onto you.
